Cute Quotographs… All-Time WPC Favorites

 

 

This is a nostalgic post, a selection of images from some of my posts, all put together now for the final edition of the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge (WPC), All-Time Favorites.

The WordPress Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge adventure started for me at the end of October 2017…

….not that long ago but enough to be feeling quite sad now that it seems it will no longer be here for us to enjoy and find inspiration in. I had got delightfully used to it all and was so looking forward to the new weekly themes, enjoying the spin of it quite much! It goes without saying that I really wish this wonderful WP initiative for us to join and share didn’t have to close.

It has been such a pleasant feeling to go through other bloggers’ contributions of beautiful photo selections all along, for each theme every week, always discovering other views and perspectives. And this week, seeing some of the other nice posts on this occasion made me  think of my several posts over the past few months on various WPC topics, that I usually posted on Sundays.

So for this Sunday Gold post, I am too taking leave of this nice community challenge initiative that made my being here richer and more playful. Reminiscing a bit, all the quotographs in this retrospective contribution have been created and posted also based on a WPC idea which I liked and enjoyed putting an article together for.

 

Aventura provocărilor săptămânale de la WordPress Daily Post (Weekly Photo Challenge – WPC) a început pentru mine în octombrie 2017…

…nu cu mult timp în urmă, dar destul încât să prind gustul jocului. Mă obișnuisem cu acele idei strecurate aici, de-abia așteptam noile subiecte  mereu curioasă să descopăr cum fiecare temă se potrivește într-un fel sau altul cu resursele și modul meu de a publica, iar acum, faptul că această inițiativă aducătoare de inspirație încetează să mai lanseze provocări îmi lasă o fărâmă nedefinită de tristețe. E de la sine înțeles că mi-aș dori mult să nu își… închidă porțile. 

Era o senzație plăcută să parcurg săptămânal contribuții pe aceeași temă în postările altor blogeri, iar zilele acestea, unele articole publicate cu ocazia ultimei ediții m-au dus cu gândul la povestea mea WPC de pe parcursul ultimelor luni. În special imaginile cu citate postate duminica. 

Așadar astăzi, a venit și rândul meu să îmi iau la revedere, mai jos veți regăsi doar imagini publicate și pe baza unor idei WPC care mi-au plăcut și m-au inspirat și fără de care acea postare probabil nu ar fi existat în acel format.

I am really grateful for the inspiring Weekly Photo Challenges at the WordPress Daily Post and thanking the WPC team for all the stimulating and refreshing ideas!

Needless to say, and that is the most nostalgic part of it all, some of the posts, the photos, the way I arranged them or wrote all around them, and the enjoyment felt by some of my fellow bloggers to read and share impressions, all that  wouldn’t have happened, had it not been for some of the topics, brain teasers at times, launched out there through some unexpected prompts.

Thank you as well for this final theme of All-Time Favorites, which I’d rather consider a warm… au revoir.

 

O postare foarte dragă mie este Liniște toamnă-iarnă, publicată pe întâi decembrie 2017. Fotografii cu dalii și crizanteme luminoase însoțite de o poezie, reverie. Este și una dintre primele cinci postări preferate ale cititorilor mei. Mulțumesc frumos tuturor! 

Cu mult drag am răspuns acestor provocări și nu numai, lăsându-le să mă inspire, dându-le o formă preferată mie, creionându-le pe măsura mea. Mulțumesc mult echipei WPC pentru toate ideile minunate oferite de-a lungul timpului, extraordinare surse de inspirație.

Voi duce dorul acestor punctări săptămânale, jucăușe și dându-mi de furcă uneori, de gândit și de… ronțăit, ca să zic așa, torcându-mi ca din mers alteori, precum că… ceva minunat este acolo, doar de-aș reuși să-l așez, la fel de minunat, în cuvânt, culoare și zbor.

Mulțumesc și pentru această idee frumoasă de final, pe care prefer s-o numesc… de cald la revedere.

Spring Quotograph… and the fuzzy unlikely

 

 

Improbabilul azi
vag estompându-se
printre raze de mâine
un probabil
țesându-se

astfel
conturându-se,

în poate și trebuie
treptat îmbrăcându-se…

neclar improbabilul
dizolvăndu-se-n mers
dar
luând ceața din pași
și dându-le
sens

 

The unlikely today
smoothly fading away
when tomorrow’s fresh ray

and perhaps
come what may,

and happen what must,
serene golden dust…

and the fuzzy unlikely
just wanders astray
still,
keeping misgivings
and sameness
at bay

 

Probabilul este deja în improbabil. Ca și posibilul în imposibil. În alcătuirea cuvintelor, mă refer, este acolo, la vedere. În substanța lor deja.

„Oare care este probabilitatea ca asta… sau asta să se întâmple?” ne întrebăm totuși. Șansele? Gândim, socotim…

Deși s-ar spune că, probabilitatea ca ceva să se întâmple sau nu este… probabilitatea pe care i-o dăm chiar noi?

Noi observăm sau nu, ne place sau nu, credem, alegem, visăm sau nu, o direcție… un sens, un parcurs. Sau nu. Noi ajustăm ușor setările. Navigăm. Prin ceea ce pulsăm?

Deci măsura întâmplării, sau a neîntâmplării, a ceea ce poate sau trebuie să fie este înăuntru? Iar numitorul comun, dirijorul, maestrul de ceremonii, ghidul sau însoțitorul, harta însăși… se pare că ne poate fi doar ceea ce simțim?

Un mic sau un mare „cred asta” sau cealaltă, nuanțe zeci în inimă mereu. În puls. Cumva, undeva o voce, o șoaptă vag auzită. În formă de sămânță, apoi de rădăcină… sau tulpină, boboc… sau petale deja. Uneori doar ceva vag schițat fluturând în adâncuri, alteori clar conturat dominând peisajul. Dar oricum ar fi… acel ceva este.

Din care este poate încolți un alt este, și un altul, și altul…

…firul poveștii a ceea ce simțim. În fiecare celulă din noi, aproape palpabil, vorbindu-ne.

Și-n pași apoi ni se-mpletește șnurul minune a ceea ce facem. Din gând în gând în gând…

 

Palpabil și totuși inefabil, când vrem să povestim, nu putem să coborâm în cuvinte.

Inexprimabil, formidabil… se pare că probabilul ne este…

…chiar înainte de a ne fi.

 

The likely already exists in unlikely. Like the possible in impossible. In the words themselves, I mean, in their substance. There already, in plain sight.

„How likely is this or that to happen?” we ask ourselves though. „The odds, what are they, the chances?” We think and we reckon…

Still, it may just be that, the probability for something to happen or not is… the very probability that we give it ourselves? Aware or unawares.

We notice or not, like it or not, believe, choose, dream it or not. A direction, a sense, a feel… Almost like adjusting settings slightly? Adjusting sails. Through the way we throb? What pulsates within us?

So is it that the measure of what may or must be happening is inside us? And the common denominator, the conductor, the master of ceremonies, guide or companion… the map itself seems it can only be what  we feel?

A little or a big „I believe this” or that or the other, hidden hues always there inside our heart. Our pulse. Somehow faint or strong, a voice in there or a whisper always making itself heard. As a seed or a root… then a stem, a bud.. or petals already. Sometimes just vague flutters, some other times clear outlines across our soulscape. But in any case, seems there.

From which there can spring another there, and another, another…

… the story thread of what and how we feel. In every cell of our body, almost palpable, talking to us.

And then the stream of what we do is woven into our steps, thought from thought, feeling from feeling…

 

Palpable but ineffable, if someone asks, we cannot really descend into words much or well.

Unutterable, unbelievable… the fuzzy unlikely seems to become the mellow likely…

…probably even before we spell like.

de viață și alb
tăind prin aer cărare,
tulpini și fire și fibre de dor
din suflet de secundă de soare…

Linii țâșnind
în boboci și antene
pe aripi,
și-n muguri de vers,
născând duminici în pași de lumină,

de dincolo de umbra
din mers

 

Linii culoare
cu sevă albastră
transportând magia eteric,
curbând curcubeu prin aer, prin gând,
prin inimă rotind-o feeric…

Linii de cald
din verde și vis,
petale și polen catifea,
desen viu de aprins
din raze și sevă

Aer de Paris…/ A sense of Paris

 

 

Există locuri și locuri… tot așa cum există oameni și oameni. Și fiecare ființează în propriul fel.

De parcă fiecare scrie și rescrie o altă hartă a momentului. Altă și altă redimensionare a clipei.

Fiecare este o lume.

Un moment de frumos, de liniște sau de inspirație, o clipă de bucurie pură, un gest sau un surâs emanând bunătate… și orice nuanță de trăire, sunt un „aici și acum,” un loc, nu doar un simplu „ce” sau „ce fel de.” Iar clipa se simte ca o locație croită la intersecția trecerii prin timp cu spații anume destinate devenirii.

Clipele sunt locuri vii la fel de palpabile ca o floare sau un vis frumos. După ce le-ai inspirat parfumul și strălucirea, toate devin treptat parte din propria alcătuire.

 

There are places and places… as there are people and people. And there is a certain something about each and every one of them.

Each maps the moments in its own unique way. Another and yet another dimension taking birth.

Each is a world in itself.

A moment of beauty, of silence or inspiration, a minute of pure joy, a gesture or smile brimming with kindness… and any hue within life’s rich range of feelings, all are a „here and now,” a place, not just a simple shallow „what” or „what kind of.” And the moments feel as tailored in a certain fashion every time, from vivid intersections of the passing through time with stops and stations meant for becoming.

Each moment in its turn seems a flavorful location, as palpable as a flower or a lovely dream. After breathing in their perfume and shine, they all smoothly become part of  one’s own composition.

Paris, France.

Străzile, orele, pașii…  sentimente felurite alergând prin suflet și ciocnindu-se de gânduri și căutări catifelate. Felul cum bate lumina, cum anumite clădiri sau construcții se înalță minune, modul în care te poartă drumul de-a lungul bulevardelor, ținând și nu neapărat cont de hartă…

Diminețile, serile…  ca povestind neîncetat, parcă stârnind aduceri aminte vagi ușor răscolite. Senzații amestecate, ca un continuu deja vu îmbinat cu o nesfârșită premiere fois. Și veșnicul gând… uf, de-aș putea fi în mai mult locuri în același timp! Străduțe alei, trepte, turnuri… în soare de dup-amiază, apus, răsărit.

Căci lumina… o îmbrățișare colorată de raze împletite cu clipe evadate din timp și zâmbete regăsindu-se.

Dimensiunea spațială reconfigurează subtil curgerea temporală, o restructurează ca printr-o prismă dispersând paradoxal trecerea:  minutele curg ca secunde, iar zilele se simt… săptămâni.

Un repede-nainte valsând tainic cu un ritm-în-reluare senin.

Și ai inspirat… aer de Paris.

 

Paris, France.

The streets, the hours, the steps… fine feelings running around your mind and soul bumping into one another and into thoughts and searches. The way the light falls, the way some building and constructions rise uniquely, the way in which the roads and pavements take you along streets and avenues, in keeping with the map but not necessarily…

Mornings, evenings… like telling endless stories as if rummaging through vague recollections. Mixed sensations, like a continuous deja vu with an unending… premiere fois. Not to mention the always present thought of… well, if only I could be in more places at the same time! Narrow streets, stairs and steps, towers… in the  afternoon sun, at sunset, sunrise.

For the light… a colorful embrace of rays entwined with a sweet string of moments like having escaped time’s prison and smiles having found themselves.

The spatial dimension subtly and sweetly reconfigures the temporal flow, redesigning it… as if through a prism dispersing the continuum in a paradoxical manner: minutes running like seconds, and days felt… like weeks.

A fast-forward secretly waltzing with a slow-motion serene.

Time has yielded… a sense of Paris.

Winter Quotograph… and weathered green

 

 

Ușa verde… împodobită în vreme.

Mi-a atras atenția brusc. Ca dintr-un episod de basm rătăcit în calea mea. Și-am fotografiat-o repede cu telefonul. Acum mă bucur mult c-am facut-o.

„Verde, verde, dar… ce nuanță?” mă întrebam. Și… încă mă-ntreb?! Atât de atinsă de dâre de timp!

Fiecare centimentru pătrat… parcă îmbrăcat în soare aprig, vânt șfichiuitor, ger, caniculă… succedându-se acum ca un film pe repede înapoi în ochii minții mele îmbătate de aspectul ei vintage și… drăgălaș? Gânduri și imagini de câteva fracțiuni de secundă, despre cum elementele i-au mărunțit și scotocit orele, zilele… Și iat-o, mijloc de decembrie rătăcit, parcă surâzând, în toată feeria fostului ei… verde?

Ei, și aici e acum! Nuanțe și tonuri. Și tente. Că deh… verdele nu vine pur și singur în întâmpinare. El poate fi și turcoaz, de exemplu, fel de fel de mix-uri albastru verzui, unul chiar supranumit „teal” în engleză. Cumva cred că îl vedem toți în Dashboard-ul de zi cu zi. E acolo în pătrățelul lui, la cutiuța de Text color din panoul minune. Iar eu am încercat să compar, ducând fotografia mea în nuanță de verde buclucaș sus sus și deschizând acea paleta de culori în stânga imaginii, dar deh… cam mic pătrățelul vinovat.

Deci, așa, acel verde… nu chiar verde. Puțin mai spre aqua, sau spre acvamarin? Acel teal? Mentă?

The green door… clad in time.

It drew my attention suddenly. Like from a fairy tale scene. And I took photos of it, with my phone. Now quite happy I did.

„Ok, ok… green, but what hue?” I was wondering. And… I still am?! So timeworn, but so… elegant!

Each square inch… like dressed in bright sun rays, coarse wind, coldness and heat… coming and going now, like in a film being rewound in fast forward in my mind’s eye, under the influence of its vintage air and cute feel? Thoughts and images in fractions of a second, about how the elements lashed or beat against its fine wooden texture, for days, hours… And here it is, a bit lost, a bit smiling, in all its discreet magnificence almost, and its former wondrous… green?

Well, and there I was! Hues and tones. And tints, shades… Hm… the green does not seem to come pure and… single. It can definitely bring around its turquoise self, for instance, or other such nice mix, blue green, one even called „teal” which I like. Somehow I think we all see it in our day-to-day visits in our Dashboard. It’s up there in its own little square, in the Text color menu. And I even tried to compare and contrast, taking my door photo after uploading up there, next to the color palette, though… uf, quite small that colorful place.

So, yes, that green… not so green. A little aqua, too? That teal? Mint? 

 

 

Și-uite așa… mă rătăcesc eu printre nuanțe. Tonuri și tente, spuneam, pentru că de-obicei încerc să nu mă las „păcălită” de orice diagramă sau grafic care pare să spună… asta e. Că nu e! Cumva și-altcumva… uf, sunt variante. Și iar nu mă las. Îmi zic, trebuie să existe un numitor comun peste care eu nu prea dau. Că-mi plac toate. Și le mai și suprapun dacă le văd separat. Dar mai puțin contează numele, nu?… îmi tot șoptește pofta de culoare.

Totuși, totuși… revine gândul, dar stai, cum ai să-i spun eu nuanței împricinate prin articol, când mai povestesc prin postare, numele pozelor… comentarii? Deci cum?

Și-uite așaaa, „tot așaaa…”  : )) că tot mi-am amintit și-am privit ieri din nou „Calcule după petrecere,” marca Horațiu Mălăele, super comic în acea ipostază bahică!!! (cu mulțumiri către Poteci de dor, desigur) … și-ajung și eu la calculele…le mele cromatice super încâlcite. Și-amintindu-mi acum și de-o expresie dinspre limba matematică pe care am auzit-o prima dată folosită înspre alte domenii aici, pe WordPress,  deci vin și adaug… „Dublu uf, chiar că-mi dă cu virgulă nuanța și culoarea asta minunată. De tot!” : )

Și-mi zic… da’ stai, de ce nu-mi pun eu la punct teoria, mai mult decât teoretică, a culorilor!!

Minunate, splendide, superbe… culorile, știm că au o ștință numai a lor. O minune să le privești, filmulețe, tutoriale, explicații… perfect de clare. Chiar dacă de-nțeles și pus în practică… mai puțin. Sau… nu chiar imediat? Ei, cândva, cumva…

Dar de privit, da! Pun și aici. Un preferat.

Tones, tints, I was saying, though usually I try not to let myself tricked into believing any hue chart that I see and that seems to say… that’s it!  It sometimes turns out it’s not. Somehow, some way… there are variants. And I go on looking for clues. I tell myself, there must be some common denominator for all these, that I can’t seem to find. And I like them all, take them as they are. They overlap too, if I don’t see them next to each other. But, anyway, that matters less, their names or slight differences, right?!… my color thirst seems to murmur.

But then again, the thought comes… wait, how am I going to refer to this or that in a post, a title, or a caption, a comment… hm. 

And so on, so forth… it does not seem to add up easily, this cute funny colorful equation. Doesn’t at all! : )) Like when people mean to refer to the one and the same thing, same reality, but they somehow use different words, although still words trying to mean the same but putting it slightly differently, and even in different languages too sometimes, though that reality is mostly one and the same all the time, phew… (if I reread this now, it may or may not make much sensem so I won’t, I’m sure you all know what I mean). : )

So I tell myself eventually… why don’t I try to watch some professionals, expose myself to some theory. More than just theoretical, it seems. Of colors!!

The wonderful, splendid, fabulous… colors, they do have their very own science, field to prance on, freely but meaningfully too. A pleasure to watch those, tutorials, short videos, explanations… perfect, crystal clear. Although really understanding it and then putting into practice, well, maybe less. Maybe not right away? Maybe some time, somehow. For the time being, intuition takes the wheel, as usual.

But watching, well… fun cozy time! I’m sharing one here. A favorite!

 

 

Nu vă uitați că ar fi 8 minute, hm… cumva fac cât două? Iar că e în limba lui Shakespeare… chiar nu prea contează atunci când grafica și explicațiile sunt ca din… desene animate!? Scheme, variante… mai verde-n ochi nu se poate (deși nu mă-ntrebați dac-am „trecut” testul de la final, uf). Doar spune clar titlul, vă rog, Color Theory for Noobs. Exact. Perfect și la.. tentă. : )) Vine de la newbies, eu îl înrudesc și cu dummies, cum am găsit undeva, „very beginner.”   Da, foarte… verde.

Deci e clar, m-am blocat. Foială în cerc. Cromatic. Foșnește a tente și tonuri. Iar eu le iubesc pe toate, combinații și seturi, probabil minunat să le poți folosi în practică natural, în design, grafică, artă… le găsesc fascinante. Ferice de cei care le pot memora, recunoaște…  ști, învârti la finețe, superb!

Și mi-am mai amintit și de „O poezie de verde” cu ocazia asta. Am scris-o… da, înaintea erei noastre, cu siguranță. Deși… poate unii dintre voi și-o vor aminti recitind-o.

Never mind that it is an 8-minute video, it feels like… a 2-minute one somehow? And the graphs, the explanations… like cartoons, playful, easy to grasp really, as a general idea. Grids, variants… more than clearly illustrated (though I can’t say I could „pass” the final little test there, uf). Well, it does say it, the title,  … for Noobs. Exactly. I must say that is quite true as far as theory and rules… and me are concerned.  And I found this phrase somewhere, „very beginner.” Yes, very… green.

So, quite clear to me, I’m going in colorful circles a bit. Chromatic. Rustling with nice shades, tones… and I love them all, combinations, sets, it must be wonderful to be able to put all those into practice somehow naturally, second nature, in design, graphics, arts… fascinating field. And so happy must be those who can memorize and recognize them easily, using and spinning them at their finest, splendid, really!

And I even remember now, something playful that I wrote once, also wearing green, a couple of years ago, it was, though it feels much more now. I hope you enjoy it, I hope to translate it soon.   : )

O mică mare zăpăceală de postare, ce mai, dar…

…ca să retușez tabloul amețit, vă arăt ușa cea verde în altă haină. Hm… m-am cam jucat.

… to bring it to a focus, here’s the green door wearing another piece of clothing a bit. Playful version.  

 

Oricum, lipsa mea de experiență în ale… coordonării profesioniste de culori chiar este în ton cu verdele din titlul postării, joaca mea cu magia coborâtă din curcubeu fiind pur intuitivă.

Al meu „weathered green” de azi este deci, oarecum paradoxal. Și este pentru provocarea cu atingeri de vreme și elementele naturii de pe WordPress Daily Post, Weekly Photo Challenge – Weathered. A cam ieșit un mozaic din verde pe-aici, culoare, cuvânt.

Și-apoi, am mărunțit puțin și magnifica ușă. Dincolo de timp, de vreme… și de culoarea ei misterioasă.

…în puzderie de cristale, smaralde, sclipiri.

 

Anyway, my lack of experience, so to say, with professional color coordination seems to „match the green” in the title of this post, my dance with the rainbow magic on earth being purely intuitive.

So my „weathered green” today is for the Daily Post, Weekly Photo Challenge – Weathered, and it really feels a bit paradoxical. And… a bit of a mosaic in green here, color and word.

Well, seems I also deconstructed the delightful door. Beyond time, weather… and its mysterious color…

…into myriad crystals, emeralds, tiny sparkles.
